DH 316 only illustrated. John Bebbington, umbrella manufacturer, 8 City road, declared bankrupt 1800. Thomas Hall, 10 City road, taxidermist and curiosity dealer, who was followed in the business by his son, also Thomas (1780-1838). Along with Robert Heslop (lot 1394) and Philip Ratley (lot 1426), Thomas Hall was a large purchaser at the disposal of the Leverian Museum holdings, an elephantine 65-day auction staged between May and July 1806 (Brooke,
