B.E.M. London Gazette 1 June 1953. The recommendation states:

‘Flight Sergeant Wright has been employed as a Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Teleprinter Base Maintenance since January 1950, when the Royal Air Force assumed responsibility for telegraph equipment installed for its use. His duties have consisted of full supervision of the overhaul and servicing of all teleprinter equipment. With the need within the 2nd Tactical Air Force for teleprinter facilities in the Field, and the absence of a standard teleprinter vehicle in the Royal Air Force, the ingenuity of this airman was mainly responsible for the design and supervision in manufacture of the mobile teleprinter facilities now in use in the Command. Due to his personal supervision and initiative, the complicated line telegraph communications organisation of 2nd Tactical Air Force has functioned in a most efficient manner. He has spared no effort to increase the service and technical knowledge of both regular airmen and National Service entrants, and his efficiency and devotion to duty have at all times been of the highest standard.’
