Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., silver-gilt, gold and enamel, complete with top brooch bar; 1914-15 Star (2 Lieut, R.A.S.C.); British War and Victory Medals, with small M.I.D. Oakleaf (Lt. Col., D.S.O., R.A.S.C.); Defence, trio with later impressed naming, mounted Court style for wear, good very fine (5) £500-600

John Cooper was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps from the O.T.C. in November 1914. He served in France and Flanders 7 January 1915 to 27 December 1915 and then in Greek Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, European Turkey and the Islands of the Aegean 28 December 1915 to 11 November 1918. Cooper was gazetted with the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel on 26 January 1918. Sold with some copied research.
