British War and Victory Medals (5472 L/C., 2/K.A.R.); Africa General Service 1902-56, 1 clasp, Somaliland 1920 (5472 L. Cpl., 2-K.A.R.), name spelt ‘Machilla’, ‘Machila’ and ‘Machira’ respectively, second fine others good very fine (3) £70-90

Machila bin Takanya was born in the village of Chilala in the district of Chiradzulu and was of the Anyanja Tribe. He enlisted at Zomba in June 1917. He served in the Great War and the operations in Somaliland before being discharged, as time expired, in 1923. Sold with copied service papers.
