Vivian Herbert Fausset was born in Waterford, Ireland in 1883, and educated at Rathmines School and Trinity College Dublin. He enlisted in 1915 and is documented as having twice refused a commission. He was wounded at Kizlar Dagh, Suvla Bay on 16 August 1915 and died three days later aboard the Hospital Ship Gloucester Castle. Private Fausset is buried at East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos Greece.
