French pre Empire (?) 7th Regiment Other Ranks Shako Plate, being a large uncrowned eagle standing upon laurel and oak sprays, thunderbolts and torcheres, centrally a raised pierced disc, the plate of thin die-stamped copper, a small hole below the eagle’s breast which probably held the fastening device, eagle to viewer’s left (approx 11.5cm x 11.5cm); 4th Regiment, an other ranks shako plate in die-stamped brass, a crowned eagle (viewer’s right) with thunderbolts below and central pierced disc, to the reverse a large pierced brass shank with disc at the base, dated 1859 and additional numerals 1278 (approx 11.5 x 8.5cm); 53rd Regiment Officers Shako Plate being a die-stamped gilded brass crowned eagle, thunderbolts and pierced central disc, maker’s mark ‘MAAS’ on lower thunderbolt, one large threaded bolt fastener (approx 11.2cm x 11.5cm); French Republic an other ranks thin copper die-stamped shako plate being a cockerel upon a plain disc with demi sprays of laurel and oak to the left and right, four pairs of holes for fastening (approx 9.5cm x 9.5cm),crown officially strengthened on the third item, good overall condition (4) £150-200
