Sword sold by Wilkinson to H. W. C. Lloyd.

Humphrey Willis Chetwode Lloyd, son of Colonel W. C. Lloyd, 20th Hussars, was educated at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, and Jesus College, Cambridge. He entered the Army in 1912 and served throughout the Great War.

D.S.O. London Gazette 1 December 1914: ‘On October 19th, led an attack and effected an important lodgement in the enemy’s lines, from which he was subsequently withdrawn, as the general advance was checked. He has acted as adjutant for a month and has always volunteered and performed good work with information patrols.’
