A fine and rare Victorian Broadsword of the Liverpool Scottish, Claymore blade 84cm by G. Thurkle, Soho, London, double fullered, etched with VR cypher, thistles and ‘8th Scottish. V.B., the Kings Liverpool Regt.’, Full Dress plated basket guard, complete with red felt covered buff liner and fringe, fish-skin covered grip, in its Full Dress plated scabbard with ball finial and contained in its patent leather carrying bag which contains within a pocket its Undress guard, almost pristine condition throughout, and a rare sword £750-850
