The Original Tunic Ribbons of Group Captain W. D. “Hurricane” David, C.B.E., D.F.C. & Bar, A.F.C., the famous Fall of France and Battle of Britain ace, comprising Order of the British Empire (Military Division) C.B.E., type 2; Distinguished Flying Cross, with rosette for Bar; Air Force Cross; 1939-45 Star, with rosette for Battle of Britain clasp; Air Crew Europe Star; Africa Star; Burma Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals, M.I.D. oakleaf; General Service 1918-62; Coronation 1953, together with an identical set of dress miniature ribands, generally in good condition £80-120

Sold with an original signed statement, ‘This is to certify that these ribbons, Battle of Britain clasp [rosette] and Mentioned in Despatches palm, signify the decorations awarded to Group Captain William Dennis David, C.B.E., D.F.C.*, A.F.C. during his 30 years in the R.A.F. from 1937, Margaret David’; a Hurricane Mk. 1 commemorative card and a dustwrapper from his memoirs, David “Hurricane” David.

The title of the biography in the last line of the footnote should read Dennis “Hurricane” David
