Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1870 (Lieut. J. B. A. Daoust, St. Eustache Ind. Coy.) impressed naming, extremely fine £240-280

Lieutenant J. B. A. Daoust of the St. Eustache Independent Company was awarded his medal in 1915 when he was a resident of Terrebonne in the Province of Quebec. The delay in his award may explain the omission of his name from the published C.G.S. rolls. In the C.G.S. Register his clasp is confirmed but his rank is listed as ‘Private’. It is possible he was a Private in 1870 and only later attained the rank of Lieutenant. Sold with copied extract from the C.G.S. Registers and other research.
