Donald Beaton lived at Dunoon, Argyllshire and enlisted at Stobs Camp, Roxburghshire. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 19 September 1918, whilst serving with the 1/8th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He is buried at Noeux-Les-Mines Communal Cemetery Extension, France, and was awarded the M.M. London Gazette 22 January 1917.

John Beaton was born and enlisted at Dunoon, Argyllshire. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 12 December 1916, whilst serving with the 1/8th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. His name is comemmorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
