Arthur Edward Povey was born in the Parish of West Sheppard, near Newbury, Berkshire. A resident of Southend-on-Sea, he enlisted into the Life Guards in 1900, served until 1912 and then rejoined in 1914 and served throughout the war. He is reported in the Southend Standard of 18 April 1918 as being in King’s Hospital, Stamford Street, London recovering from an attack of trench fever. Sold with some service and family details.
