Clement Cornwall Webb was born in Exeter and served with the 8th (Derbyshire) Company, 4th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry during the Boer War. In the Great War he was commissioned as a Lieutenant with the 4th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment in September 1915, being promoted Captain in April 1916. In October 1917 he tranferred as Captain and Adjutant to the R.F.C. / R.A.F. Sold with some copied service papers.
