96th (Metropolitan Mounted Rifles) Company Imperial Yeomanry.

George Elijah Hilling was born in Wansford, Suffolk. A porter by trade, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry on 5 March 1901, aged 20 years. He served with the Metropolitan Mounted Rifles, 96th Company, 24th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa between 12 April 1901 and 30 August 1902. Sold with copied service papers.
