Edgar Arthur Pearl Bowen was born in Maldon, Essex. A bank clerk, he attested for the Army on 9 December 1915, aged 21 years. He served with the 3rd Battalion Essex Regiment until 27 March 1917 when he was discharged having been appointed to a commission in the 4th Battalion. Sold with 18 sheets of copied service papers.
