Henry Byrne Chatteris served in West Africa for some years, and in 1895 was Assistant Consular Officer at Brass. He took part in the Brass River expedition in February of that year but contracted malarial fever during the campaign and died at Brass on 8 March 1895. Sold with copies of the medal roll and Letters of Administration of his personal estate.
