Henry VI (First reign, 1422-1461), Annulet-Trefoil sub-issue, Penny, Calais, mm. cross V on obv. only, annulets by neck, trefoil to left of crown, annulet in one quarter on rev., 0.85g/9h (Whitton 4b; Walters, NC 1911, pl. x, 2, this coin; N 1432; S 1856). A little clipped, otherwise about very fine and toned, extremely rare; very few specimens known £400-£500

Virtually all known Annulet-Trefoil issue pennies have two annulets on the reverse and are therefore mules struck with Annulet reverses; as the present coin only has one annulet on the reverse it is a true Annulet-Trefoil coin and extremely rare as such
