Tokens, MIDLOTHIAN, Edinburgh, issuer uncertain, Halfpenny, 1796, tower within ornamented oval, rev. buck’s head crest, edge plain, 9.73g/6h (DH 5). Striking flaw in edge and planchet flaw on stag’s neck, otherwise extremely fine and patinated, very rare; the finest specimen seen by the cataloguer in commerce £300-£500
