Sold with copies from 108 Field Ambulance War Diary, which states ‘Captain J. L. Dunlop has been awarded the Military Cross, most well deserved for fine service rendered since coming to France, but especially by excellent work at Forceville 1st to July 5th 1916.’
The History of The 36th (Ulster) Division, by Cyril Falls confirms Dunlop as having gained the award of the M.C. whilst serving with that Division.
