Medals sold with card forwarding box addressed to Mrs M. J. Riding of York, together with condolence slip.

Sergeant Amon Riding, 230 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 25th July 1942, aged 21 years. His name is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt. Riding was one of the crew of Sunderland Flying Boat L.5806 which took off at 1600 G.M.T. on 25th July 1942 on Air Sea Patrol in the Mediterranean. After takeoff nothing further was heard from the plane or the crew.
