John Wallace Wouters was born c.1873 in Middlesex, England and is believed to have seen service in the Boer War. With the outbreak of the Great War, he attested in Sydney on 27.8.1914, then aged 41 years. After service with the 4th Battalion A.I.F. he was discharged as medically unfit, after service totalling 1 year 173 days, of which 1 year 68 days were spent overseas. Sold with the recipient’s identity disk and original Australian Imperial Expeditionary Force Certificate of Discharge.
