Royal Engineers Balloon School Medal [1907], 32mm., silvered white metal, by A. Fenwick, conjoined busts of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra left; rev. an airship over the town of Farnborough (B.H.M. 3697; D.F.358.4),choice, virtually mint state £45-65

The former site of the Balloon School, Royal Engineers, in Farnborough, is now occupied by the Royal Aircraft Establishment. Although the school was not founded until 1907, B.H.M., which lists the medal only in white metal, places it in 1901, as the obverse was originally used on an accession medal.
B.H.M. lists the medal only in white metal, D.F. only in copper.
