R.V.M. London Gazette 12 June 1941. James Robert Smith, Stud Groom, Bushy Park, H.M. Thoroughbred Stud.

The Stud Groom was the person in day to day charge of the stud. The then Princess Elizabeth made the first of many visits to the Hampton Court Stud in 1942. As such it is likely that the Stud Manager and James Smith were influential in developing the the Queen’s interest in horses. Sold with copied research.
