Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing’s Nek (4231 Pte. J. Donahoe, Rl. Dublin Fus.) nearly extremely fine £70-90

James Donahoe was born in Dublin and enlisted for the Royal Dublin Fusiliers at Naas in 1891 aged 18 years. A musician by trade, he served for a while as a bandsman. After service in the East Indies and South Africa he was transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1899 but was recalled for service in the Boer War from November 1899 to November 1901. He was discharged as medically unfit on 21st May 1902. Sold with copied service papers.
