Meeanee Hyderabad 1843 (Wm. Furr, 22nd Regt.), steel clip and straight bar suspension, with silver slip-bar inscribed, ‘Meeanee Hyderabad’, good very fine £450-550

William Furr enlisted into the 22nd Foot at Chatham on 10th April 1841 and embarked for India to join the regiment on 30th September, joining up with them at Sukker on 15th April 1842. He served with his regiment at the battles at Meeanee, 17th February 1843 and Hyderabad, 24th March 1843. Furr died, presumably of disease, at Bombay on 15th October 1846.
