Waterloo 1815 (William Swanson, 1st Batt. 79th Reg. Foot), later clip and ring suspension, edge bruising and generally rubbed details, possibly as a result of old circular mount, contact marks and polished, fair to fine £500-600

Two Private William Swanson’s fought with the 79th Foot at Waterloo, one in Alexander McLean’s Company of Grenadiers and the other in James Campbell’s No. 7 Company. The former was subsequently discharged in consequence of asthma and being ‘wounded through both thighs at Waterloo’. He had previously been ‘wounded at Busaco on 27 September 1810 and at Fuentes on 6 May 1811’.
