Thomas Wright was born in Manchester, and enlisted for the 31st Foot at Stockport on 13 November 1806, aged sixteen years. He was discharged at Dover Castle on 11 September 1818, in consequence of a fractured femur occasioned by a fall from the Mizen Top on board ship in July 1818 on his passage home from Malta to England. Sold with copy discharge papers which note that he died on 30 January 1871, having been admitted as an ‘In Pensioner’ on 1 October 1859.
