Military General Service 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Roleia, Vimiera, Talavera (Thos. Skeels, 40th Foot) edge bruise, otherwise good very fine £1000-1200

Thomas Skeels was born in the Parish of Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, and enlisted into the 40th Foot on 22 August 1807, aged twenty-six years. He was wounded in the thorax on the 28th July 1809, at Talavera, and taken prisoner. He remained a prisoner of the French until 5 May 1814, and was discharged at Plymouth Dock on 3 May 1815. Sold with copy discharge papers.
