Naval General Service 1793-1840, 2 clasps, 1 June 1794, Nile (James Cummings) brooch marks to reverse and suspension re-fixed, edge bruising and contact marks, therefore good fine £800-1200

James Cummings is confirmed on the rolls for both actions as an Able Seaman aboard the Audacious. Two other men of this name are shown on the roll. Sold with detailed research by Captain Douglas-Morris which shows that this man was ‘prest’ into the service at Sandwich on 17 March 1793, and paid off in July 1802 with the statement against his name in the Muster Book, ‘Forfeits all his pay prior to 7th Sept. 1801 by sentence of a Court Martial.’
