The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E. (Military) Member’s 2nd type breast badge, silver; Military Medal, G.V.R., with Second Award Bar (461233. Pte A. Goddard. 26/F.A. R.A.M.C.); 1914 Star, with clasp (1962 Pte A.S. Goddard. R.A.M.C.); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaves (1962 Sjt. A. Goddard. R.A.M.C.); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star, 1 clasp, 8th Army; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, with M.I.D. oak leaf; Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 3rd issue, Regular Army (725121 Sjt. A.S. Goddard, R.A.M.C.); Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937; Denmark, Kingdom, Christian X, Slesvig Medal 1920, silver, unnamed as issued, contact marks throughout and edge bruise to MM, the Great War awards worn in parts, therefore fine, the later awards good very fine or better (14) £800-£1,200

Albert Stanley Goddard attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 5 November 1914. Initially serving as a Private, he was twice decorated whilst serving with 26 Field Ambulance, ending the War as a Sergeant. Commissioned Lieutenant (Quartermaster) on 19 August 1940, he was twice Mentioned in Despatches for service in the Middle East during the Second World War, and ended that conflict as a Captain. He relinquished his commission on the account of disability on 19 July 1946, and was granted the Honorary rank of Major.
