Amos Nearse Horrox was born in Sunderland, and attested for the Royal Artillery. He served with 217th Siege Battery during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 26 October 1916. He is buried in Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
