Charles Robert Thompson served with the 160th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery during the Great War, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 30 September 1917, aged 22. He is buried in The Huts Cemetery, Belgium. He worked as a Telephonist and is also commemorated on the Chatham Post Office War Memorial.

Stanley William Thompson attested for the Royal West Surrey Regiment, and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 11 May 1918, and is buried in Esquelbecq Military Cemetery, France. The Chatham News of 18 May 1918 reported that he ‘Joined February 1917, drafted to France in October, on Wednesday his parents received a touching letter from a Nursing Sister of the Canadian Hospital with news that Stanley had been admitted to hospital severely wounded and had died the next day.’
