Reginald Alfred Gatfield, the son of Mrs. E. A. Gatfield of Streatham Common, London, was commissioned into the London Regiment, and served with both the 16th (Queen’s Westminsters) Battalion and the Machine Gun Corps during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 7 June 1917, aged 20, and is buried in Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France.
