Albert Edward Brown was born in Brighton, Sussex, and attested there for the Royal Fusiliers. Transferring to the Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment, he served with the 10th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was awarded the Military Medal. Transferring to the 11th Battalion, he was subsequently killed in action on 20 September 1917. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
