The Gordon Highlanders Officer’s Full Dress Dirk in silver coloured metal, the 31 cm etched blade with single fuller and saw back edge retailer Cater & Co., Pall Mall, London, the blade fully etched both sides with battle honours to Afghanistan 1878-80 and on the other side with the Sphinx/Egypt, unit title, the Lion/India and VR cypher, the bog oak handle with silver pins (two lacking), ornate bulbous gallery (severely distorted) and lacking the facetted finial stone, the black leather scabbard with four chapes, the top one with regimental insignia mount, the remainder with thistle sprays, the knife and fork with similar handles and finials complete with facetted stones, some discolouration to the dirk blade, the knife with broken tip and discoloured blade, the leather scabbard with a small area of damage otherwise reasonable overall condition £300-£500
