Africa General Service 1902-56, 1 clasp, Somaliland 1902-04 (J. H. Scull, Sh. Corpl. 2.Cl., H.M.S. Fox.) contact marks and minor edge bruising, nearly very fine £100-£140

James Henry Scull was born in Bradford, Ontario, Canada on 15 August 1875, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 1 February 1892. He was promoted Able Seaman on 20 July 1895, and Leading Seaman on 28 October 1899, ands transferred to H.M.S. Fox on 16 October 1901. Whilst in that ship he was promoted Petty Officer 2nd Class on 1 March 1902, and Ship’s Corporal 2nd Class on 1 April 1903. He was promoted Ship’s Corporal 1st Class on 1 March 1904, and Master at Arms on 10 May 1912. He served throughout the Great War in the repair ship H.M.S. Assistance, and was shore pensioned on 28 April 1919.
