Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (T. Fletcher, 14th. Foot.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge bruising, otherwise nearly extremely fine £800-£1,200

Thomas Fletcher was born in Bosworth, Leicestershire, on 31 August 1792, and attested for the 14th Regiment of Foot at Nottingham on 2 September 1806, aged 14. He served ‘for 23 years and 236 days in the East Indies, and was present at the Capture of the Isles of France and Java, the practical settlement of Sambas, and the storming and capture of Bhurtpoor’ (service record refers). He was finally discharged on 11 October 1831, after 32 years and 343 days’ service.
