General Service 1918-62 (2), 1 clasp, S.E. Asia 1945-46 (3996 C.Q.M. Hav. Kesar Bahadur Thapa, 3/4 G.R.); 1 clasp, Malaya, G.VI.R. (21132675 Rfn Bhikusawcha Rai 10 G/R.) very fine (2) £60-£80

Kesar Bahadur Thapa served as a Company Quarter Master Havildar with the 3rd Battalion 4th Gurkha Rifles. In 1944 they were part of the Chindit Force led by Brigadier Lentaigne, along with the 2nd King's Own Royal Regiment and the 1st Cameronians. Given his senior rank it would be highly likely that he served with his unit two years earlier as a Chindit.
