Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Toulouse (R. Colclough, Royal Arty.) edge bruising and contact marks, nearly very fine £500-£700

Richard Colclough was born in Stoke, Staffordshire, and attested for the Royal Artillery at Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, on 29 July 1811, aged 19. He served with the Royal Artillery for 22 and a half years, of which 6 months were spent in the Peninsula, 1 year in Gibraltar, 5 years and 6 months in Corfu, and the remainder at home. He was discharged on 7 January 1834, owing to chronic rheumatism not attributed to neglect, and his character was noted as exemplary.
