Hubert Goodman was born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, and attested there for the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry on 11 June 1900. He served with the Battalion in Malta from 19 June 1901 to 2 April 1902, and was discharged, time expired, on 10 June 1906.
