Herbert Vince was born in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. He served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment in the French theatre of war from 13 February 1915. Vince died on the Western Front, 23 April 1915. Private Vince is buried in the Etretat Churchyard, Seine-Maritime, France.
