A German Third Reich Second Pattern Afrika Korps Visored Field Cap. A good service worn Afrika Korps tropical visored field cap of the 2nd pattern. Standard ribbed tropical material, good clear white stitching. The cap is complete with its correct Bevo woven light blue on tan national eagle and cockade, no size stamped but approximately 56. To the interior the standard red lining with internal fitted sweatband. It would appear that at one stage in its life the cap originally had the inverted V section of white waffenfarbe. The presence of this evidence points to the cap being produced in early 1942, the first batch of the 2nd pattern caps were produced with white waffenfarbe, orders followed for the waffenfarbe to be removed in February of 42, this is such an example, good condition £500-£700
