Three: Painter 1st Class G. Bright, Royal Navy

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Suakin 1884 (G. Bright. Painter. 1. Cl: H.M.S. Euryalus.) ship partially officially corrected; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Geo. Bright. Painter. 1st. Class. H.M.S. Hercules); Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed as issued, light contact marks, very fine (3) £280-£320

George Bright was born on the Isle of Wight on 24 February 1845, and joined the Royal Navy as a Painter 2nd Class on 26 October 1870. Advanced Painter 1st Class on 1 July 1876, he was posted to H.M.S. Euryalus on 12 January 1882, serving with them in Egypt and the Sudan. He was shore pensioned on 2 May 1888.
