The Gloucestershire Regiment (which in 1994 merged with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment, itself an amalgamation of the Royal Berkshire Regiment and the Wiltshire Regiment, to form the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire, and Wiltshire Regiment) and the Royal Green Jackets (an amalgamation of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, the King’s Royal Rifle Corps, and the Rifle Brigade) now forms part of the Rifles (alongside the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and the Light Infantry).
