Edgar Geoffrey Mack was born in Lamas, Norfolk, and was the son of the Reverend Edgar Mack of Swanmore, Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Wiltshire Regiment in October 1914, and served with the 2nd Battalion in the French theatre of war from 26 May 1915. He is recorded as a ‘gallant officer [who] had previously been wounded near La Bassee in May [1915].’

Second Lieutenant Mack died of wounds on the Western Front, 27 September 1915, and is buried in the Vermelles British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
