Jessica Lillington/Lillingston Freshfield was born in May 1873, and was the daughter of the Reverend John Minet Freshfield and Harriet Louisa Lillingston, the latter being part of the Plantagenet family by descent. Miss Freshfield served with the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John of Jerusalem on the Western Front, 3 April 1915 - 30 October 1917 and 8 November 1918 - 7 February 1919. She advanced to Charge Sister, and was awarded the A.R.R.C. in 1918.
