C.A.F. L.S. & G.C. Cape Gazette 25 March 1910: Captain Daniel Alexander Bethune, Cape Volunteer Force - Wynberg High School Cadet Corps.

Daniel Alexander Bethune was born at Creich, Sutherland, Scotland, on 20 March 1863. He was appointed Lieutenant in the newly formed Wynberg High School Cadet Corps on 15 October 1898, and promoted to Captain on 22 January 1906. He resigned his commission on 5 September 1910.
