George Herrington was a native of Brierley Hill, Dudley. He served during the Great War with the 6th (Service) Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles in the Salonika theatre of war from 25 September 1915. Herrington advanced to Lance-Sergeant and transferred to the Leinster Regiment.
