Great Britain, Swimming: Leander Medal, a silver award medal, unsigned, swimmer battling waves to reach the shelter of a turretted building from which a figure signals, rev. wreath, named (The Humphery Memorial Medal, Instituted in 1880 by the Misses C & J Humphery as a token of affection for their late Father, Hony. Teacher of Swimming to the Serpentine Club, to be swam for by all Bathers Annually in the Serpentine…won by Mr Wood, 1st Prize, July 28 1880), 45mm. Contact marks, fine to very fine, toned; with clip, ring, original red, white and blue ribbon and clasp, contained in contemporary case (£40-50)
