Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Gold Crown, mm. lis, crowned bust in ruff and ornate dress, rev. crowned square topped shield between er, reads fidiei, 2.78g/6h (Brown/Comber M3; Borden/Brown 9; SCBI Schneider 762, same dies; N 2020/3; S 2544). Extremely fine, the horizontal hatching of both cauls and the frosting within the band of the crown on the reverse very clear, extremely rare thus (£4,000-5,000)
